My wife Bonnie and I operate Darnell Performance Horses on a ranch just outside of Galatia IL in the beautiful hills of Southern Illinois. We’re a short drive from the Shawnee National Forest with hundreds of miles of trails. We train both horses and riders of all ages to show and compete in a wide variety of disciplines (team roping, calf roping, goat tying, barrel racing, pole bending, reining, cow horse, western pleasure, halter and several other events and disciplines).
Wether you’re a beginning trail rider, advanced show competitor or a seasoned rodeo vet we have the experience to help you to the next level.
We have trained Quarter Horse, Palomino, Paint, and Appaloosa breed champions in team roping, calf roping, reining and cow horse events. We have trained World Congress champions, North American Palomino World Champions, Appaloosa World Champions, High Point Champions and have won the world famous Dixie Nationals AQHA Show. We take a great deal of pride in what we do and we have a lot of fun doing it.
